A charity built around two obligations
UNH exists to move Zakat and Sadaqah to the families entitled to receive them, with as little lost along the way as possible.
Our mission
Most charities do many things. We do two. Zakat, because it is an obligation with strict rules that deserve to be honoured properly. Sadaqah, because it funds the things Zakat cannot: the wells, the warehouses and the staff who make delivery work.
How we handle your money
- Zakat is held in a restricted fund and released only to programmes reaching the eight eligible categories.
- Sadaqah is unrestricted and covers programme delivery and running costs.
- Aid is bought locally wherever functioning markets exist.
- Every appeal is reported on with spend and reach figures after completion.
Our values
Dignity first. We do not use imagery or language that strips people of it. Honesty second. If a project underdelivers, we say so. Frugality third. Overheads are real and we would rather name them than hide them inside programme costs.
